Laurentius is a graduate from the Newark School of Violin Making and Repair.  During his time at college he learned the art of violin making from Robert Cain, Paul Harold, Ceris Jones, Nigel Melfi, and Peter Smith. Restoration and bow repairs he learned from Bharat Khandekar, Kai Dase and Paul Gosling.

Besides dividing his time between the regular college curriculum and working in a local professional violin workshop at the same time, he also completed the full requirements for the college’s highly prized additional ‘advanced restoration skills’ qualification.

After graduation he enjoyed apprenticeships with many distinguished professionals all over Europe, including Johannes Jacobs in the Netherlands, Narelle Freeman in the UK, and Peter Westermann in Switzerland.

Laurentius has worked and improved instruments’ sounds in Austria, The Netherlands, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and the UK.

In 2016 he taught violin making and -restoration skills at a private school in Nottinghamshire. In the summer following, he established his own privately owned business and workshop in Sleaford. Two years later, when the first premises were bought, the workshop moved to Billinghay (Lincoln)
